Residential rat prevention, 12 month guarantee T&Cs Apply.

Suited for property's with a long term rat problem that putting poison down has not fixed, or even made it worse.

Our Residential Rat Prevention Plan is designed for properties experiencing persistent or recurring rat problems—especially where traditional poisoning methods have failed or even worsened the issue.

Before any work begins, a comprehensive site survey will be carried out to identify the root cause of the problem. This ensures that every measure taken is based on clear evidence and a full understanding of how and why rats are accessing your property.

The prevention plan covers all agreed works identified during the site survey. Once entry points and causes of activity are located, they will be addressed using the most appropriate and effective methods. Any necessary remedial work will be completed to ensure long-term protection.

If trapping is required, visits may be as frequent as daily to monitor the extent of the infestation. After the initial works are complete, a follow-up visit will take place 2 to 4 weeks later to assess site activity and use tracking methods to confirm whether any rats remain.

A third visit, approximately 2 - 4 weeks after the second, will verify that the property is free from rat activity. At this point, any remaining exit points can be sealed, and the 12-month guarantee will begin—once both you and our team are confident the issue has been fully resolved.

If activity persists despite all remedial works being completed, a trap and monitor plan will be reintroduced at no additional cost and any additional work needed to prevent access will be included, These steps are included within your guarantee, and your 12-month coverage will not begin until your property is completely rodent-free.

Rats always find their way in from somewhere—they don’t live in your home, they only nest there. Our goal is to locate and eliminate the source of entry, ensuring lasting protection without unnecessary use of poisons. Prevention is always better than poison, and rodenticides are used only as a last resort when all alternative solutions have been exhausted.

We’ll explain this entire process clearly during your free initial site visit, ensuring you understand every step of your tailored prevention plan.

If remedial works are not done by Peterlee Rodent Prevention for any stated reason, any remedial works must be carried out at the earliest convenience to allow for successful treatment.

Due to the extent of some remedial work requirements, E.G. Drains (repair, excavation, Replacement), Brick repointing ( full house side), Man holes (Lids, frames or repointing in the manhole) The remedial building works carried out by 3rd party contractors are separate from the 12 month guarantee, Any work carried out by Peterlee Rodent Prevention will be covered and stated in writing with copies for both parties.

Residential Mouse Prevention

Mouse Prevention Plan

Our Mouse Prevention Plan is tailored to deliver a lasting resolution to mouse problems by emphasising identification, control and exclusion, rather than quick-fix treatments.

We begin with a thorough site survey to determine access points and assess the extent of any mouse activity. Because different species (or circumstances) may require different treatments, identification of the mouse type is an essential first step.

Trapping and monitoring always form the initial stage of the treatment process. Based on the findings of the site survey, we will carry out all agreed remedial works to address existing activity and prevent future ingress. A full trap and monitor strategy will then be implemented to ensure the problem is eliminated.

Once the entry points and underlying cause of the mouse activity have been located and dealt with using appropriate methods, multiple revisit visits may be necessary. These visits allow us to clear and reset traps if needed, monitor progress and ensure the infestation is fully under control. The number of visits will depend on the mouse species involved and the scale of the issue.

When monitoring confirms there is no further mouse activity, we will complete the final proofing of the property — sealing all access points and reinforcing the building envelope for long‐term protection and your peace of mind.

We do where necessary use Rodenticide (Poison) but it is a last resort treatment once all other methods have failed or cannot be implemented

Removal of a rodent nest after treatment

Where there has been an internal property infestation, a nest will be there, Where accessible and after the problem is treated we use a third party hazardous waste removal company to clear and clean the affected area and dispose of all waste legally.

This will be a separate cost paid directly to the hazardous waste company after they have viewed and quoted the work.

Due to the hazardous nature of nests and the risk of disease and or infection from the nest it is the only way we recommend dealing with nests after treatment. This is optional and at your discretion. You may wish to source your own hazardous waste company.

We cover Peterlee and the surrounding areas, delivering affordable rodent pest control tailored to the unique needs of each property.
