Peterlee Rodent Prevention – Terms & Guarantee

1. Remedial Building Works and Equipment Terms

1.1 Agreement of Works
All remedial building works identified during the site survey must be agreed to in writing by the client prior to commencement. No works will be undertaken without prior authorisation.

1.2 Exclusion from Guarantee
Unless expressly stated and agreed in writing by both parties, remedial building works are not included within the 12-month guarantee provided by Peterlee Rodent Prevention.

1.3 Responsibility for Completion of Works
Any remedial works or repairs recommended within the survey report are provided as professional recommendations to support effective rodent prevention. For the prevention plan to be successful, all recommended repairs must be completed either by Peterlee Rodent Prevention or by a competent third-party contractor, as agreed at the time of survey.
Failure to complete such works may significantly reduce the effectiveness of any treatment or void the guarantee.

1.4 Ownership of Equipment
All rodenticides, traps, and monitoring equipment supplied by Peterlee Rodent Prevention are provided strictly on a hire basis and shall remain the sole property of Peterlee Rodent Prevention at all times. Clients must not remove, damage, relocate, or tamper with any equipment without prior consent.

1.5 Limitation of Liability
Peterlee Rodent Prevention shall not be held liable for any continued or recurring pest activity resulting from the client’s failure to complete recommended remedial works, prevent access, or allow reasonable attendance for follow-up visits.

2. 12-Month Guarantee Terms

2.1 Guarantee Commencement
The 12-month guarantee period will begin once both the client and Peterlee Rodent Prevention confirm that all agreed works have been completed and no further rodent activity is detected. Confirmation will normally occur following the final inspection visit, during which entry points are sealed and the property is declared rodent-free.

2.2 Scope of Guarantee
The guarantee covers a return to the property free of charge in the event of renewed rodent activity within the 12-month period, provided that:

• All recommended remedial works were completed as agreed.

• The client has not made structural alterations or changes that could reintroduce access points.

• No third parties have interfered with or removed any monitoring, proofing, or control materials supplied by Peterlee Rodent Prevention.

2.3 Exclusions
This guarantee does not cover:

• Infestations caused by new or unrelated access points not present at the time of the final inspection.

• Damage, neglect, or lack of maintenance that compromises previous proofing work.

• Rodent activity originating from adjacent or neighbouring properties beyond the client’s control.

• Situations where recommended remedial or proofing works were not undertaken, altered, or removed after completion.

2.4 Client Responsibilities
The client agrees to maintain reasonable standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and property maintenance to prevent conditions that could attract or harbour rodents. Failure to do so may void the guarantee.

2.5 Call-Outs Under Guarantee
If rodent activity is suspected during the guarantee period, Peterlee Rodent Prevention will attend to inspect the site and, where necessary, reinstate control measures. If the renewed activity is found to result from new damage, uncompleted works, or external factors outside our control, a standard call-out fee may apply.

2.6 Transferability
This guarantee applies solely to the property and client named in the original agreement. It is non-transferable unless expressly approved in writing by Peterlee Rodent Prevention.

3. General Provisions

Peterlee Rodent Prevention reserves the right to amend these terms as necessary to reflect changes in best practice, legislation, or company policy. All services are carried out in accordance with current UK pest management regulations and humane control standards.
